Thank you for your inquiry regarding Ole’s Hakai Pass’s employment opportunities for the upcoming season. Ole’s is a family run operation. Our floating lodge is anchored in Hakai Pass for the summer fishing season. The remote setting, on the Central BC Coast, offers our crew an experience and opportunity like none other.

We accommodate up to 24 guests at one time and have a crew compliment of 9. Our fishing season runs from early July to early Sept. with crew schedules averaging 10 hrs per day, 6 days a week. Once in camp the crew stays and works through the season. We do have internet access so you can communicate with friends and family but no trips out for crew are arranged.

Wages are based on position, seniority and experience and start at $93.50/day. All Tips are pooled and shared equally amongst the Crew.

Our positions range from:

  • Dock Hand/Fishing Tutor
  • Server/Housekeeper/Hostess
  • Chef
  • Kitchen Assistant

The whole crew works together to provide superior customer service and a safe, successful, unforgettable experience for our fishing clients. Each crew member contributes to the success of our charter fishing trips and as part of our crew you would be integral to the overall health of our business.

Ole’s offers great opportunities for students. With no place to spend your money you can save all your summer earnings and we do our best to accommodate student schedules. Give us notice notice prior to the start of the season and we can usually co-ordinate start and end dates for you, provided customer service and shut down is not compromised.

What training or certification do you have?
  • Marine Emergency Duties
  • Radio Operator Certificate
  • First Aid – Level 1 to Occupational First Aid – Level III
  • Pleasure Craft Operator’s Certificate
  • Food Safe – Level I, II or III
  • Serving it Right
  • Superhost
