"It's no wonder you have so many repeat guests here; great fishing, nice clean rooms, your fabulous Chef, the staff and crew are always two steps ahead of our needs. I was very impressed with the professional and cheerful nature of the hard working crew here at Ole's. I'll definitely be back"

"Ernie thanks for an amazing trip. Our group caught huge Chinook, lots of Coho and a bunch of Halibut on the same trip. Coming to OLE's is why we put up with everything we do all year, just so we can make it back one more time. The guys are already lining up to sign up for next year. You and your crew know what it takes to keep my clients happy, thanks for an incredible Trip. Looking forward to next summer already."

"Choosing a fishing Trip to British Columbia to celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary, my wife Lori said " all I want to do is show up and have someone handle everything" Well Ernie and his staff did just that. We had a wonderful time fishing for Salmon and Halibut, the accommodations and meals were wonderful! . This was the most enjoyable anniversary experience we have ever had"
-Ray Camacho, ID
"..we've been to just about every place you can mention on the coast, and we keep coming back to Ole's Hakai Pass. It's not just the fishing, which is incredible, it's so much more. Every year we notice something new, you could come here for 10 years and never get bored. Add to that the finest crew and you've got us hooked"

The Eagle Has Landed

Spring has arrived and we are looking forward to getting back to Hakai Pass.   In 2010 we were treated to a very special welcome to Hakai Pass when a pair of Eagles decided to make Barney Point home and raise their 3 young.  As the season unfolded we watched as these chicks grew and grew, finally taking their inaugural flights in late Aug.  We are very excited to return and see how the family is doing !

Ernie and Tammy visit the Dominican Replublic

Looking back on the winter it has been a great one, starting with a fantastic trip to the Dominican Republic for a break after the busy summer of 2010.  My wife Tammy and I were treated to a wonderful welcome by our many friends in the DR and enjoyed a terrific week at Casa Bonita in the province of Barahona.   I highly recommend this destination for anyone looking for a rejuvenating winter treat.

The Grand Canyon

This Spring I had the great pleasure of taking a trip to the Grand Canyon with my daughter Kira and we were fortunate to visit Bryce canyon and Zion National Park as well.  The hike down to the bottom of The Grand Canyon took 4.5 hours and the hike back up the next day was 8.5 hours.  A really great experience in an amazing landscape.

This past winter the OLE's Fishing Lodge was involved with the restoration work in the flood ravaged Kingcome Inlet.  With the community completely devastated OLE's camp was used as an accommodation barge for the crews doing the work to rebuild the community.
